Former CFTC commissioner David G. Gartner passes away at 74

Former CFTC commissioner David G. Gartner died Tuesday in Arlington, Va. Gartner worked for several members of Congress before joining the staff of then-Sen. Humphrey of Minnesota in 1961. He ultimately became Humphrey’s chief of staff. Gartner was later appointed a commissioner of the CFTC and named special deputy to the U.S. Senate.
