The NFA has named Jamila Piracci to the post of Vice President for OTC Derivatives. This new position was created to oversee the Dodd-Frank mandated derivatives registration categories swap dealer and major swap participant. The CFTC has proposed rules defining and governing the conduct of these entities. Once these rules are finalized, the NFA will take charge of registration and compliance duties.
Piracci will be coming to the NFA from the Federal Reserve Bank. She has also worked for International Swaps Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA), where she served as Assistant General Counsel. “We are very excited to have Jamila join NFA. With her extensive background in swaps and depth of experience she is the perfect candidate to lead NFA’s efforts in this area,” said NFA President Dan Roth. Piracci will be in charge of the NFA’s effort to examine and monitor swap dealer and major swap participant Association members.
